POTENTIAL ANNUAL ENERGY SAVINGS

4,000 Energy Saving Kits Distributed

32,988 Students Educated

*Tracker Last Updated 31.03.26

We smashed the original goal of 1 million kWh's saved... we surged past 2 million... and now thanks to the outstanding efforts of students, teachers and families, the program is estimated to have influenced up to 16,525,352 kWh potential annual energy savings! This is the power of small actions adding up to big change in our communities.

The Smart Energy Academy kWh Savings Tracker estimates the total annual kWh savings across Queensland communities as a result of the in-school energy efficiency program.

This estimate is based on program data and modelling, including:

  • Energy savings from the installation of devices in Energy Saving Kits distributed to households.

  • Estimated savings from energy-efficient behaviours adopted by students and their families following the program, measured via follow up surveys. It does not account for behaviour persistence or drop off, and is only to be used to indicate potential kWh savings from the program.

By combining real-world installation data with behaviour change insights, the tracker highlights the collective impact of small actions at home: showing how education can drive lasting energy savings across the community.

Congratulations on all your incredible work! Keep switching off the lights, turning off appliances at the wall, and making a BIG difference with your small actions every day!
